This essay will examine the representation of males in the War genre, which will include all electronic media of war from: Films, Games and Television programs, Examples of each being for a film; Fury (David Ayer, October 22nd 2014) and American Sniper (Clint Eastwood, January 16th 2015). For games that include the representation of males in the war genre these are: games from the Battlefield franchise and some of the others being from Call of Duty's (Black ops 2-Treyarch, November 12th 2012) and War thunder (Gaijin, August 15th 2013). For the Television programmes: royal marines commando school (Channel 4 October 9th 2015) was picked and its about training of the Army and there progress on the front line of Afghanistan. The representations are important in exploring the masculinity of males in the war genre and how this may have changed in time and if the perception of masculinity in war is still there or if its diminished in any way to fit a different purpose such as just being there as a suppression role filler.

Unfortunately in deleting your initial post, you have also deleted the feedback I gave you for the first draft. However this one still has some issues which you will need to correct. When you mention the name of a media product for the first time, you must mention the year it was released. Names need a capital letter at the start of each word.
ReplyDeleteIn the final section of the introduction, you have said that you will investigate "if the perception of masculinity is still there." This implies that it was there once- and this should be a "finding" of your essay based upon research, your introduction must not answer the question in any way, all of your findings must be included in the essay and then evidenced through primary and secondary research
