War genre

Representation of woman and men

Films> Battleship-  Rihanna, one of the main protagonist having a more masculine role/ change what role woman have in newer war related films (Peter Berg, Battleship, 2012)
Fury- represented as innocents and usually end up dying, having a non important role due to the events in the story (Michael Spielberg, Fury, 2013)
Edge of tomorrow- For this a woman is also the main protagonist participating in a co role for a interwoven story. The role of army soldiers is commonly played by a male character but instead they have gone against what is commonly been used in war films. This has happened more recently in the war genre where woman have started to take on more lead roles (Doug Liman, Edge of tomorrow, 2014)

Games> Battlefield 4- Woman played yet again as a lead role of a protagonist at the sane time of trying to be the innocents with more focus on the male characters as you are the one controlling the male character whilst the female character is non player controlled and also with another female but just the voice of the helicopter (Tombstone) co-pilot and isn't actually shown in the game itself (EA DICE, battlefield 4, 2013)
War Thunder- voices are only used in this game for the war genre but are a mix of males and females with the male voices being mainly dominant in the game with only slight scenes that use a female voice for the in game events. (Gaijin, War thunder, 2009)
