Plan For My Essay

Representation of Males in the War genre 1- Males being represented as hero's/soldiers/aggressive  to back this up in the movie Fury (David Ayer, October 22nd, 2014) this reinforces this stereotype when in the movie when the majority of the people we see are soldiers with non of them being woman, with the males being hardened brutalist males "we are here to kill fucking Kraus scum not play with fucking dolls so get your head out of your arse and do your job solider" in battlefield 4 they are shown as being aggressive as when they are captured, one of the soldiers spits in the face of the Chinese commander who is going to torture them spitting represented as being one of those things you do as its dirty and can be shown as being hugely disrespectful and aggressive and can show the person who is spat at is dirty and a bit of a idiot and mean War thunder, in the cut scene, one of the soldiers is seen stabbing a enemy solider repeatedly and then burning his dead body wi...

Introduction to Esaay draft 1

This essay will examine the representation of males in the War genre, which will include all electronic media of war from: Films, Games and Television programs, Examples of each being for a film; Fury and American sniper  For games that include the representation of males the choices I  have picked are games from the Battlefield franchise and some of the others being from Call of Duty's and War thunder (Tank Simulator). For the Television programs I have chosen to go for royal marines commando school which is about training of the Army and there progress on the front line of Afghanistan. The representations are important in exploring the masculinity of males in the war genre and how this ma have changed in time and if the perception of masculinity in war is still there or if its  diminished in any way to fit a different purpose
Genre Research Task War genre War genre is concerned with Warfare that existed before the turn of the 20th century and during the 20th century, typically these are about land, air and naval battles. With combat scenes central to the drama that existed in such events of war. Nations such as china, Indonesia, Russia, and japan have made there own films and such things that show off previous events/wars that they have under taken in the last century. from this reenactments of such wars have been growing in the turn of the late 20th century, many of which have been of World War 1 and World War 2 and to more recent years at the turn of the 21st century game manufactures have got involved creating war games that illustrate wars both past and more fictional future wars.  examples of products in this genre that have represented and shown and incite into war are films such as Fury, which follows the story of an American tank crew breaking behind enemy territory in the ww2 scene of Naz...
War genre research task War genre War film is a film genre or other electronic media concerned with warfare of land, air and naval battles that have taken place within the twentieth century, with combat scenes central to the genre. There is stories or films that try to stay as close to the real thing as possible as a historical enactment of the film or even can be a twist but is still some what based off a real story in terms of some the events that are played out in the events of the story and through other means of representation both physical viewed and mentally in the minds of the people to imagine what I would have been like in the real wars. War film that can count as a historical enactment of a war event would be Fury, which is based on World War 2 with the American army pushing behind the lines of the German forces. The film focuses around tank combat and the name fury coming from the name of Sherman tank as it was called fury and this was closely related to what act...
War genre Representation of woman and men Films> Battleship-  Rihanna, one of the main protagonist having a more masculine role/ change what role woman have in newer war related films (Peter Berg, Battleship, 2012) Fury- represented as innocents and usually end up dying, having a non important role due to the events in the story (Michael Spielberg, Fury, 2013)  Edge of tomorrow- For this a woman is also the main protagonist participating in a co role for a interwoven story. The role of army soldiers is commonly played by a male character but instead they have gone against what is commonly been used in war films. This has happened more recently in the war genre where woman have started to take on more lead roles (Doug Liman, Edge of tomorrow, 2014) Games> Battlefield 4- Woman played yet again as a lead role of a protagonist at the sane time of trying to be the innocents with more focus on the male characters as you are the one controlling the male cha...
