HAVE AN OPINION
Availability of violent video games
At its current state games especially of those of the violent games is becoming more and more popular in todays world. All the way from first person shooters to open world MMO's have some aspect of violence in them, some more censored than others. At its present in 2016 first person shooters are the most popular type of Violent game. Franchises such as EA and Activision make the most popular types of first person shooters (violent Games). Games of such popularity are games such as Call of Duty and Battlefield. These games are both rated 18 as they use extreme violence ranging from shooting to torture and blood and Gore but Can be digitally purchased my anyone with an account that Links to a Gaming company such as Sony or Microsoft. These games are becoming more and more popular and very recently in Virtual reality Devices such as HTC vive

The availability became this way due to a craze in the late 80's and early 90's when the first of violent first person shooters became available. These where Doom and Wolfienstien which both released 4 years after one another one in 1989 and the other which was Doom which was released in 1993. These where the first of there kind to be first person shooters which both contained censored to a point gore but with a small presence of blood. As time progressed these type of games became more popular and the first game to take this to the extreme which led the benchmark for all future of extreme violence was call of duty world at war which showcased scenes of mass murder and torture with high presence of blood and gore with shootings and stabbings being the central focus of the game. As these games became more popular the price of these games decreased as many more people where hooked on buying these games. The current state these games are now relatively cheap at £54.99 for the newest first person shooters which are Battlefield 1 and Call of Duty Infinite Warfare

My informed opinion on these types of games is that they are becoming fairly similar and there is no set big variation in what the content involves in these games. I think that personally games need to start to have some variation in what the content and narrative is about

WWW- a good discussion about the situation regarding violent games

EBI- you had explored one of the main issues about this topic, and that is whether, as some people believe, violent games lead to violent people, and that the amount of time young people spend playing games is leading to an explosion in obesity and unhealthy people who no longer play football or exercise.
